Second Chance…

There is no universal definition of life; only thing that’s available to ponder would be the variety of definitions given to the word life, and some of them were proposed by scientists – and to them, to finally give that once and for all definition of life is still a challenge up till this very minute. But that’s not the issue; what is then? I personally can’t think of WHAT life is, but I do know whats IN life, and that is life is full of challenges.

One of the biggest challenges in life is by far facin’ ‘em, that’s for sure. But if you limit yourself to think that the worse is all about JUST facing the challenges, then, what about the ‘whatever happens after you’ve faced the challenges’? The aftermaths, maybe? Well, whichever definition you want to give, or whatever happens afterwards, one thing still remains for sure in my humble opinion – and that is, life, as simple at certain times, most of the times can be complicated, is full of difficult challenges, decision makings, and etc.

Up to this point, we clearly know that life can never be easy; it can, but never TOO easy for everyone. It might, but just by luck and not everyone gets the luck they’ve been wishing for. This posting of mine is not here to discuss about the complications in life – nor it is here rather to discuss the consequences of all challenges in life. Because we already do know that life is full of tough choices, risks one must take ‘to make a simple turn at a junction’, and etc.

What’s on my mind to discuss would be about chances we get to go through all these. I’ve heard people saying throughout my life on various occasions,

We only get one chance in life…

or things like,

You’ve been given the second chance to redeem yourself but again, you failed…

or perhaps

There’s always a second chance if we fail this time around…

Would that be fair to do so, I mean, suggesting limits to deal with all sorts of life’s complications? It’s like, there are only two chances; first chance and the second chance, which acts as the final chance to meet to all expectations in life. Would that be all? No, “Third Chance”?

*Youtube Video included

According to Miss Kansas’s answer, second chances are very ’situational’. If second chances are granted to those who wants to change their lives to be somewhat a better one, whatever happens IF they failed again; but only this time, the failure is not a s bad as it was before – would they be given the third chance to make themselves worthy for their lives, or will it mark as ‘The End’? Probably once a failure, second is on a passing mark – third will be the ultimate victory?

All I’m inquiring would be – yes, there are those who gets to meet and deal with life’s unpredictable challenges in life using their given second chances; but, can they try again on their third attempt? Or should we LIMIT the chances one gets in his or her life to just two? Only second chances?

I bring you… Miss World 2007 Pageant…

December 13th, 2007
As promised katanya kan – an entry about the recent Miss World 2007 pageant where I finally crowned my successor to continue the effort to show to the world the existence of beauties with brains and with a purpose – and that covers not just to the real women beauty queens (at times I’d have to say, yang menang the real Miss World pageant pong nan ado quality-nye like the recent Miss World 2007, Miss China? Harrrtuiiihhh! Ops!)

This time around, I will be doing these entries like I normally do; ala ala from A to Z I suppose; only this time around, it won’t be having so much details as the previous journey (“The Road To Miss World 2006″Part 1, Part 2, Part 3, Part 4). This time around, it’ll be somewhat, short, precise, kalau ade long winded tu, maaf kan jer la yer; old habits are very hard to get rid off, kan? Hiks! And prolly if got parts pon, it won’t be that banyak la kot. Why? Well, for one thing, this year bukannye mak compete pun so why bother sangat. Ops!

And that also would refer to the fact that I shall not be giving out details about the troubles I had to go through in order to get myself there at the pageant; which includes designers buat hal dengan my dresses, the weight issues and stuffs; aiyoh! Lets not even go there. It will only get myself more upset thinking about it let alone ber-entry bagai about it. Especially part diet tak menjadi tu. Urgh! Tension. So I’ll skip about that yer… :)

Actually, to tell you the truth, am not quite sure how to begin this entry; macam, what to write eh? Hurmmm… prolly I should tell u ols how it was just for that night, kan? Nuthing much nak diceritakan pun about the time nak pergi for the pageant – it was like nuthing much to tell pon. So yeah, prolly I’ll just tell you lots about the night I ended my reign as Miss World 2006.

But of course, before I go on telling u ols about the rather short entry about how I ended my reign, I would like to share with you ols the following videos I ols just upload kat my Youtube katanye; bersesuaian dengan tajuk entry, maka… saksikan lah… hiks!

Opening parade/ Reigning Queen’s red carpet catwalk

Opening show/ Preview of all 30 delegates competing for the night

Lepas nih mak sambiung lagiks nah, more about the pageant malam itiew yer… But for now, since mak dah kekeringan ideas, so, mrasa – lets EAT!

I’ve found my successor; a beautiful and intelligent successor…

December 9th, 2007
Today, I am no longer Miss World title holder for the year 2006; as we have now Miss Antigua and Barbuda, to carry on the title for the year 2007 till her time is up in 2008. And I will be giving a full-coverage entry about Miss World 2007 pageant yang baru saje selesai berlangsung last night…

Just wanted to say this, to my beautiful, talented and charming and sweet successor…

You’ve got it;
“Want the crown.Wear the crown.Feel the crown.Be the crown.”

Congratulations dear!!! :) Enjoy your one year life as Miss World 2007…

Regards from your predecessor…
Lea – Miss Venezuela/ Miss World 2006/07

Thanks kakak! muah muah.. - Miss Antigua and Barbuda/ Miss World 2007/08

… but that “soon” does not mean like later in 1/2 hours time or tomorrow or somethin’, nah? Hiks! Mak penat sundiels. Like, me, C.A. and Ginger just arrived back from KL just now; so you can imagine la how penat we ols semua. Besides, me gonna be busy MAKAN dulu, so lepas tu baru nak pikir about the entry! Hiks!

So nevermind, tunggu² jer la yer for the entry, coming soon – and lets just again hope that “Soon” is just like, later, tomorrow? Hiks! :)

Cheers!

Step not down, but only aside…

In anticipation of my passing of the crown really really soon, I hereby would like to state the following:
I have enjoyed my reign, and therefore willingly release my crown to my successor to continue the tradition, of proving there is such a thing as beauty with brains.

And… while there have been debates about my physical state now, I have nothing to say but for the fact that even with the crown, I still am human and have flaws.

To quote a line once used in America’s Next Top Model cycle 9 episode 10,

I have flaws,
but I make them beautiful… - Bianca

I hereby would like to state that any bitching about my current appearance, is gracefully accepted, being in my nature as a queen. Not just one with a crown, unlike many others who bitch about me, but one who has proven time and time again, I have deserved it.

And I now, step not down, but only aside, for the coming queen, as I prepare to place the crown on her head of synthetic hair worth MYR70 from Jenny L&G in Pandan Jaya (Anyone wants the full address? Office number? Mobile? Mrasa, e-mail me nah? Ops!), I would like to remind everyone, that a queen, is just that. And jealous subjects, can say anything they want, but only dream of being me…

Yang penting, mak juger lerrr yang ado crown dalam koleksi yang tidak dibeli sendiri yer. And we’re not talking about just satu crown jer yer… it’s actually, SALAH SATU out of the many yer. Hiks! Ko ado? Nan ado katanya! Mati la nanti mak diklasifikasikan sebagai “Miss Tak Layak” yang “Kekwat”, kans? Hiks!

Work the runway honey – and the crown is yours!

December 6th, 2007
If you could recall (was it yesterday or the day before) I made an entry about working to get what you want – ie. winning a pageant? And I touched literally about preps for pageants as well as talking about the 1st segment, the national costume competition – Link to entry

And so today, we shall be going into details when it comes to the favorite part of any beauty pageants/ competitons;

The most anticipated part of any beauty pageant would be when all the girls would come out with 1001 different types of gowns, dresses and etc, of 1001 different sorts of materials, colors, designed by different sorts of personalities, designers and all; it’s the part of the competition that would bring out the colors, live and excitement to everyone, not just the audience, but also to the girls competing with their dresses on, and of course, 3 to 4 inches heels – THE EVENING GOWN COMPETITION

Again, I shall not be touching about how u lots will go about choosing your gowns, who will design ‘em, and etc. That ain’t what’s MOST important, ok? Of course it’s important, ade mek cakap it’s NOT important? I said it is not THE MOST IMPORTANT thing you must be worrying about.

You could have Versace or even Roberto Cavalli workin’ their butts out for your evening gown/ dress, using fabrics like silk, satin, chiffon – you name ‘em; added with rhinestone and ostrich feathers here, there and everywhere, covering only the essential parts of your body, making you the most sexiest contestant for the night – but as long as you keep walking like a retarded sh*t-head overdoing it with a 4 inch strapless high heel shoes, as long as you keep on doing that damn “I’m only 19 years old but I already have osteoporosis, isn’t it wonderful?” pose each time you before you twirl like an F rated (that’s F for F*$@ and not for grade F, mind you…) ice skater, AND most importantly, if you keep on doing that silly “… The smell of your fart is apparently nicer compared to mine, errr… I think… *blur*” smiley plastic non-ado confidence face, they, honey, you can kiss your damn dress goodbye!

So what exactly are the most important things one needs to know when it comes to evening gown competition? Well, as mention in the quote above this paragraph, the 3 most important aspects you need to learn, know it by heart later on, and practice to perfection would be:

  • The style, the grace, the traditional added with modern ‘Beauty Queen’ catwalk – if the background music is a bit too slow, don’t do the “Choo!!! Choo!!! Chakalaka chakalaka woo!!! woo!!!” walk, ok? It will only bore us audience to death; and when it comes to a fast beat number for this love evening gown competition, NO, we do not expect you to go like walking with ‘Happy Feet’! Walk as graceful as you can, despite whatever song as the background music. Owh and one more thing, when the organizers says something like, “Take your time, don’t rush…” THAT DOES NOT MEAN you get to catwalk and parade your silly walk for like 5 to 10 minutes.
  • The pose that strikes – please avoid unnecessary poses that involves waving! For goodness sake you’re not into the top 10 or finals just yet. When you pose, do slight gestures to acknowledge the judges (especially) and the audience that you appreciate their support (EVEN IF there’s no one in the ballroom actually cheering for you… ops!)
  • The immaculate sincere having ‘The Time Of Your Life” smile with natural facial expressions – this one I have to stress out the most. People (be it audience or judges especially) they like to see a natural contestant, apatah lagi kalau nak menangkan that particular contestant; the ideal person yang selalunya wins the pageant would be of those yang tidak overdoing things, especially when it comes to facial expressions, gestures and above all, that smile. Someone yang tampil relaxed with all natural movements, as though she’s enjoying the night’s competition be it either if she wins or not, but for that moment of the competition, the limelight/ spotlight is on her, she’s on her best foot forward, wearing a killer dress, ENJOYING the night, naturally such smile and gestures would then appear and the sparks from that natural smile is even shinier than rhinestones on Roberto Cavalli’s dresses, ops!

All in all – one who has all the above said pointers, will naturally show the glow on her face and somehow or rather, it will show that one is in the comfort zone; she is totally comfortable with what she’s wearing. And somehow I believe, that’s also very important. Say if you don’t glow with that glow, with that shine, naturally stating that you’re enjoying your moment, walking like a true queen, posing that pose – no pose is hotter than that one, no reactions to whatever and whoever, and just plain dull – then, like I said, you gown is worthless; topped with insecurity move. But on the other hand, should one has all the 3 pointers, and having those pointers, she still fails to walk with a very confident, shoulder’s back kindda walk thingy, given her a bad hair-do and the worst evening dress even in any pageant history, I guess she’ll survive. Why? Just look at Oxana Federova; she had it all; all the 3 points up there – but she failed to show that she’s comfy with her white-berkemban ikat with reben ugly dress, but then, since she’s got all those 3 points, PLUS with that lovely face – hahaha, mrasalah anything goes, right?

Ai say mennn… all talk, no videos, no good la aih? Well, after series of selecting, I’ve finally decided to put yet another 2 videos from Youtube.com (NO, not from MY personal videos – cet!) only this time the 2 videos are from 2 different pageants; well, actually, both were taken during the evening gown competition (semifinals) at the Miss Universe Pageant; only 1 was in Las Vegas, Miss Universe 1996 and the other 1 is Miss Universe 2002 live from Puerto Rico. Now, as you view these videos take note of my “NOTES:” just below the videobox :)

Miss Universe 1996 Evening Gown competition (Semifinals)

NOTES: A definite NO NO was India (sadly…), Russia, El Salvador, Peru. The “Quite OK lorrr” groupie would be almost the rest; EXCEPT for these 2 “BEST OF THE BEST” semifinalists – Miss Mexico, Miss Venezuela. Even USA had that “Owh I’m worried, what if I… owh sh*t!” Hiks! See what I mean? The FACE, the face must show confidence, EVEN when you’re not. (PS: I’ve always wanted to do a dress similar to Miss Venezuela’s dress; Engy? Alamode? ADDINCH! hiks!)

Miss Universe 1996 Evening Gown competition (Semifinals)

NOTES: China was a tall, stiffy one. South Africa was the most kekwat one. The ones who brought colors and life to their dresses: Albania, Russia (although I must say I hate that dress… hiks), India (sad ‘coz it looked as though India was copy-cating Halle Berry’s dress), Panama (love the rambu ramba renda and all…) Venezuela’s dress was ok but somehow the more I see it the more I hate it. A completely “NO thank you” would be Cyprus, China (again), Germany (EW!!!) – was surprised most of them were wearing white/ off white/ cream colored dress, except for Albania and India. And this clip shows a good example of doing your own sweet style to an upbeat number… well, almost an upbeat number. Browse la at Youtube tu and do your homework!!! :)

I think I’ve done enuff babbling yadey yadey yadey for today… I guess! Hiks! Laters…

PS: I almost forgot – buat Disclaimer ler. Dengan ini, and taking into considerations entry² yang related to this entry which doesn’t have Disclaimers just yet, let me point out that whatever I’ve said as part of tips or pointers are actually based on my personal experience competing in more than 20 pageants (to be exact 26) between the years of 2001 to 2006. So excuse you, mind me, though it is a new blog, I still go about with “I write, you read… “; only this time, it’s somewhat a bit different – “I write, you shut-the-f*$#-up and read… “ Hmmm… thank God I will soon have my successor! Ops! Hiks!

Between ‘Dreaming’ and ‘Wanting’…

December 5th, 2007
As time rolled by, as my years in beauty pageants sort of like gave me a lot of exposures, more experiences and etc., I can’t help it but come to notice the fact that when it comes to matters of the crown i.e winning a pegeant, people especially contestants, and at times, supporters, tend to forget the or most of the time, overlooked at the importance and differences between…

Dreaming for the crown…
and
Wanting the crown…

Sure, generally some might say…

Ala… the difference is that dreaming is when we ada pasang niat/ angan² to have the crown. And wanting is just an advance move from just dreaming of having the crown

Right, I do not have the power to say the answer is wrong, or right; as a matter of fact, when it comes to questions and answers in this field called beauty pageant, there are no right or wrong answers.

But there’s always the case of… having the most logical and a more precise close to correct answer, which I believe was once quote by one of the finalist of Miss America contest 1999 or so I think… hiks!

When you dream of having the crown, you’ll tend to enjoy the dream that you’ve completely forgotten about working your way for the crown. And as for wanting the crown, shows the significant sign of hard work, determination and will eventually get you the crown. And so, you’d better work your way, instead of just sittin’ there and do nothing but to continue dreaming…

And when one strives hard, pageants after pageants, trying to accomplish, wanting her dreams to come true – the label “Miss Tak Serik- Serik” came in handy, yes? Yes, I was once, or should I say, still have the label fixed on me. I guess once you’re labeled with somethin’, it tends to stay there – especially calling-names such as this. But then again, if one would take it negatively, then you might as well stop all the hard work, pushing yourself to the limits at every single pageant until you get what you want, and just simply forget about that goal and stay on as a dreamer. I’m sure you don’t have any troubles getting an appointment to dream your favorite dream time after time, yes? Besides, after timeless and endless same freakin’ dream, I guess you don’t need to do appointments with your dream, right?

There… now… I know, I know. Who am I to say this, right? Just another Miss Tak Serik- Serik even though now claiming to be all serik and all, right? True…

But at least, if any of you dreamers wants to compare with me, with what I’ve accomplished within these past few years, I don’t have any problems saying… “Don’t push your luck too much dear…”; because what you have as a dreamer, can never compete or be compared to what people who have worked hard to get what they want. Besides, “A dreamer can just dream, whereas this Miss Tak Serik- Serik can say “Been there, done that…” and what a joyride of experiences it has been for me…” - Nurlea Laurielle

No no, this is a no no entry for carutness yer, mind you. It’s technically like this; all I’m trying to say here is that, f&*# what those a%#hole f^&*s wanna say to you or about you. It’s your dream, your wantings – you stay there and keep on dreaming, you would still be called/ labeled as a dreamer. You go do the things you’ve dreamed about, they’d be calling you names like Miss Tak Serik- Serik or Miss Tak Sudah- Sudah and endless carutans behind your back. So what? It’s dawg-eat-dawg world out there… So why stop there when you know for a fact that if you stop there, you would still get it from these people??? So you might as well get carutans and at the same time work your way, WANTING what your dreams are askin’ for… That way, when you get what you wanted, what you’ve been dreamin’ about, you get to ask those lamers to hit the road! ‘Coz all they will ever get is… nothing! You? Me? Yes – a crown! :)

Now class, (class = those young, fresh talents out there…) repeat after me…

Want the crown… Wear the crown… Feel the crown… Be the crown…

Repeat that until it gets into your brains and then, when you’re confident enough to stop dreaming and working for what you want… go on by saying…

I’m not a dreamer – I’m more than that. I want what I have been dreaming of/ about; and no one shall stand in my way…

And how’s that to boobs up, eh, I mean, boost up your spirits for the pageants, to go out there, strive hard and get/ achieve what you want, what your dreams are made off, and be called Miss Tak Serik- Serik i.e. be like me? OPS! Hiks! Well, There’s always only one room for a boy in a dress named Nurlea Laurielle Lai Lee Abdullah (though I’ve heard some have had their sharing-my-limelight moments by using some or half of my name, but that’s ok. I forgive you. Hiks!); anyways, as I was saying, only one room for a person like me. So create a room for your own lar! Hiks, and who knows?…

Work what you want; you’ll earn what you want…

December 4th, 2007
This is nothing more than just another entry of sharing some thoughts and experiences for those who wishes to polish more on their erm, hmmm… skills? No, erm, their erm, hmmm… lets just say its one of those entries from a beauty queen (former and ex-beauty queen) to future beauty queens… :)

Yes, what you want you will definitely have to earn it. Nothing comes easy these days and surely nothing comes in for free either. The road to become a beautiful enchanting beauty queen is never cheap! Yes, its expensive! LOL! But am not here to talk about budgets and all (prolly not, just yet! Hiks!) What am about to touch in these series of entries would be some what about erm, owh well… you’ll see…

Before I go on, for those (yang interested lar…) who have not gone through my previous, previousss entries from my previoussssss blogs about beauty pageant tips and stuffs YET, feel free to browse thru and read one (or all) of the following related links:

Now, getting on to today’s entry… today mek nak touch on, the first part of beauty pageants, introduction round. And normally, for introduction round, we have either in casual wear, or, we would have the contestants parading in their national costumes of the countries that they are representing, and the bla bla bla. Not gonna go into details about what country to pick/ represent, or what to wear for national costumes, and etc. Itu tertakluk kepada pilihan peribadi. What I really want to go into details would be other things aside from the ones I said I won’t be talking about.

This part of the competition, is very, very important. It’s EVERYTHING! I mean, wouldn’t you agree, that this will be the part where everyone including the judges would have their first sight on you? So first impression, is very crucial. And for that, the way you present yourself, not just in your opening lines, but also the way you, yes, catwalk and bring yourself up before you head on to the mic to deliver your introduction speech is ultimately important. Take note of the following quote (taken from Miss Debby Reynolds’s script in “Connie and Carla”) for you to improve the way your catwalk. And always remember using this quote, and with that you won’t go wrong…

Heads up… boobs’ up… it’s showtime!

Technically, what I personally think about that quote would be to always have your head looking straight up (with the occasional looking down to the floor, just to mind your steps), and walk straight (with grace, and style that is) ahead, do not slouch, and that should make a good first impression that you know what you’re doing, and of course, hit them (the judges and the crowds) with your best smile; show how ready you are to meet them…

And then, as you go up front for your opening/ introduction speech, PLEASE, follow the following guidelines:

  • TOLONG cakap biar jelas. It doesn’t matter if you have big husky suara jantan and kasar; hey, look me?! Hiks!
  • Tempo pertuturan anda, biarlah dalam kadar sederhana; not too choo-choo-f%#@ing-slow, feeling² nak maintain woman and all, AND, not too… erm, hmmm… like, traveling in the speed of light? Just make sure you get people to hear what you are trying to say.
  • Soal faham ke tidak, itu tak penting. Well, if you speak Bahasa or English, well, you then HAVE to la kan make people understand. Not unless you kelentong like some people feeling² skeaping Spanish walhal it was just part of Michiko Latino punye lirik, then, hehehe (OPS!) make sure you deliver ‘em well and make people believe in what you say tu la kan, tu jer… :) (Hmmm motif mak tetiber terase pedas kat sini? Hiks!)
  • Kan? Hmmm… anything else? Hmmm… that’s it I guess. I will end this session for today with the following clips taken from youtube. Watch, and learn! Itu jer I want to say; just watch ‘em, and learn – it would do you good. And this is what you call, HOMEWORK!

Miss Universe 1996 Parade Of Nations (Introduction Round) – Part 1

Miss Universe 1996 Parade Of Nations (Introduction Round) – Part 2

Next up – Evening wear round; the dos and don’ts and etc. More videos (from my favorite selections) coming up you way soon…

Just a few words of… to all the…

    December 2nd, 2007
So it was China ROC who took the crown and title of Miss World 2007, which ended just now quite frustrating… why, what was so frustrating about the end of the show? THE RESULTS lar silly! How very ‘I smell something fishy’ kind of situation… just look at her final 5 answer; urgh! I shall write about this Miss World 2007 Sanya, China issue, later. Owh, that poor Miss Malaysia of ours… Deborah Henry was so meant for the final 5 cut from the top 15 semifinalist… damn the results! Screw Julia Morley! Beauty with a purpose, hahhh! Ops, ok ok. Later, I shall continue. Yes, later… but how could they do this!? Just because China will be the host for the 2008 Olympics, it doesn’t mean The Miss World 2007 title should be simply given to them! I mean, common’ lar peeps – no smelling fishy ah? And for crying out loud, noticed how Miss P.R.of China answered her final q during the final 5 cut!? It was a pathetic answer, moreover it was filled with R replacing L and L replacing the R, and not to mention her URM ERR HURM MMM ERR… nah, I don’t think it was a fair decision. I don’t think there was anything to decide at all in the first place. It’s a scam and it’s bloody obvious – Imagine, the crown, now on the head of the practically very so obviously undeniably undeserving winner who’d probably still practicing, e.g. “No, solly ar errr I can-nort, erm, urm, tarking in, Yinglish. Speak errr rittre rittre rittrebit onry ah, shieh shieh” - ew!!!!! Wtf!?! Wow… amazing!!! Hello? Am I the only one seeing her future now? Miss China ROC 2007, is Miss World 2007, ready to be at the Olympic Beijing 2008, greeting all sportsmen and sportswomen from all over the world – the connection, see?!?!?!

Am not fussing mussing here because China won and our Deb didn’t make it into the final cut. It’s not that. It’s just, well, simply put – if it was a well deserving victory, it’s ok. I guess I’ll just bitch about why the screw is the fudge didn’t our beautiful Miss Deborah Henry of Malaysia not into the final 5 cut. But this? This is beyond outrages! I felt like, urgh!!! Serving the world with charity, love, kindness, treating each human being equal and giving people of the world what best for them, and what they deservetreating deserving people fairly my butt! Eric Morley could be screaming down there and saying, “What’s wrong with you Julia!?! Owh, I know, MONEY!”. Poor the late Mr. Eric, the strict, stern yet caring and loving, the late Eric Morley. Urgh! If I could just… urghhh!!!!

Eh, erm, ooooowwwwwcay, I think that went far enough don’t you think so? Hehehe… Ok ok, I promise, more about Miss World 2007 pageant in Sanya, China (YES, the real one lar, hello!? Concentrate! Hiks!) after this short message entry…

Today, the 2nd of December, as I get closer to reach the end of my journey, I feel that its among my last few duties to say a few words as somewhat a message to all… errr – who? Sorry? I heard someone said, to all who? The contestants? Miss World 2007 contestants? You mean to all those beautiful, multi talented girls coming from all over the world, from all walks of life, representing their respective countries around the world, having to compete together and have the chance of a lifetime to make their ultimate dream comes true, making it a reality (just like I did… hiks!), and above all, grabbing the title of Miss World 2007? Right… (Ehhh… Ops! Now I think I’ve just made this part called “Summary of Post; Click to read post in full” sounded a bit too, erm, too, full? Detailed?! It’s already like the entry itself, without having to use the Summary of Post feature. Darn. Urgh!!! Why can’t I do everything just right, urgh! See! I can’t do this ok! I can’t manage to do a short entry; just had to be 3000 words and above… *sigh* Great! Urgh!!! *$#*^#!*&@^!((@^!~ < - I'm cursing myself if you are even wondering... hiks! OK, enough with this 2nd distraction also. We move on, yes? Ok, fine, lets continue – I’ll continue straight to the point, promise.

When I said ‘RIGHT’ just now (just before I realized how lost and totally feeding the details of the entry in full…) I was actually referring that ‘RIGHT’ to -> “YES, you’ve guessed it wrong! Congratulations! What’s wrong with you!” Hiks! I will eventually be doing the usual queenly-bye-bye speech with all those good luck wishes and prolly give a few pointers to the newbies and etc, yeah, of course I’d do that, but not in this entry. Saving that one later.

For now, what I was really trying to say, this message entry anyways, actually I really wanted to say this message to all my friends, close contacts and what not – yes, I’m referring to the food and desserts and all, which are waiting for me… Hehehe… Told them (mind you, the food and all) that after I’ve completed performing all that is required of me, I’d coming around and instead of just looking for them, I might as well indulge ‘em. It has been a while you know… LOL!

“Hang in there guys!!! Mak datang nanti! Get ready!”…

Hiks. And then, yes, you guys heard about the fat/ diet stapler whatever nonsense which was in the newspaper, yesterday or somethin’? Well for me, it was something new, and I was very excited to find out about this stapler for dieting purposes, stapling fats, and getting you back in shape? Owh my, it sounded fun, right? Come; lets check how this new stapler looks like… :)

What a lovely blue stapler; though it is kind of a normal stapler, yes? Next…

Ahhh yes, no. This is not something new; it might just be of a different design but still, doing what does best – stapling papers! Hiks!. Ok now, next?

Owh, what a lovely dog-stapler. Huh!? You don’t suppose it staples the poor ol’ dogs’ mouth? If it does, I’m sure our V Captain HooKsie would love to have one, yes? You have found a new device to kill more dogs… Congratulations, wishing you all the best of luck! Now, moving on…

Ahhhhhhh! Is this the one? Yes… yes… it is… owh, it is not. It’s just yet another one of those Ridgid R150FSA Stapler. No, this is not the one… But, what’s this, up next, the final pix!!! Come!…

Bingo! So this is now the fat a.k.a stomach/ tummy stapler looks like. I doubt it’ll fit just about any shelf, hmmm… I wonder… (showing signs of interests… hmmm…)

But believe me – seriously and honestly, try searching at Googles.com; do an image search that is, and type in diet stapler - see anything interesting? Bruuuwwwekkk… *pengsan*

    Begin the countdown timer, now…

    December 1st, 2007
Ladies, and gentlemen, … today, will be the day. Yes peeps, it will be the day of all days since calender was invented… erm, eh, wait, calender was invented due to date or day factor ek? Owh nevermind. That’s not the whole point here…

The whole point here, yang me try to deliver in this yet another short and simple entry, would be…

December 1st, 2007the timer will start its countdown.

Yes, its all about countdowns for the month of December. But this countdown is no ordinary countdown, no sir, na ah. And the timer itself is not just like any other timers you can get out there in the real world, nope. This one is rather different, I’d prefer calling it special, because the timer has been set for a few different countdowns, hences the reason why I don’t have pictures of the timer I’m talking about to be attached to this entry. Sorry… Hiks!

So, this so called one of a kind timer will begin (well, actually it has already begun just a few seconds or perhaps few minutes ago…) for the following countdowns (and the background music will be played at this instant; hit it! *Ok, if you can imagine about the timer, lets add up your imaginations a bit – imagine the song! Hehe. What song? “It’s The Final Countdown…” Geeez, of all the music??! Stinkipu!)

    1. Countdown for the new Miss World (YES, I’m talking about the real one, ops!!!). Who shall be crowned as the new title holder for the title of Miss World 2007? We’ll find out about that soon enough later tonight (within this 24 hour that its) when the pageant is aired live from the host city, Sanya, China (China? 3rd year in a row? There? I mean, here, Sanya? Hmmmm China?). And let us not forget, that this year, we are very lucky to have a very stunning, beautiful, intelligent and with a good personality and charm to represent our country as Miss Malaysia to the pageant. Yes, I’m talking about Deborah Henry, Miss Malaysia 2007; will she make us all proud tonight? After 57 years of the pageant, will she be the 1st Miss Malaysia/ World to proudly by bring back the prestigious Miss World crown? Another 1st Malaysian for us all? We’ll find out, soon enough. And could the critics be true this time around? As heard, she is actually among the critic’s “Eyes on Favorite To Win” list? Well, whatever it is, I’m sure she’ll DO her best instead of just “Ok lor, I will going try lahhh”, right? :) Owh, and I almost forgot; will Lina Tey-Oh (its actually Teoh, but pronounced by Ronan Keating as TEY-OHH, ew!?) remains as the only Miss Malaysia to be in the top 3 list (Miss World 1998, Lina Teoh – Miss Malaysia, 2nd Runner-up; after Miss Israel and Miss France as Miss World 1998 winner and 1st Runner-up, respectively). Or will Deborah breaks the record? We’ll find out soon enough!

    2. Countdown for the end of the year 2007; which welcomes us to 2008; and that’s like just so not gonna be happenin’ in another 30 days from now; I might as well just state countdown to Xmas?… Hiks! NEXT and FINAL COUNTDOWN PLEASE!!!

    And… *DRUM ROLLS PLEASE…*

    3. Countdown for a marvelous session, filled with extravaganza and spectacular sensation, with out of this world moments of fine and non-fine dining (got eh such thing as non-fine dining? Hmmm…); a dining like no other dining, a dining ladies and gentlemen, like there’s no tomorrow…

Yes… it’s all true, and I shall be the lucky person to be able to taste all those wonderful dishes, cuisines and all – here there and everywhere. And not just for the sake of tasting the scrumptious meals, but also to enjoy myself up to 2 or 3 helpings… hiks! LETS! And this celebration of great feast shall be, erm, ah yes, with IMMEDIATE effect, AFTER I have successfully end my duty officially and have passed on the duties to my successor! Yes, IMMEDIATELY! It’s like, I like!!! :)

“Kak Ara! Lekas! Boh nasi lemak utk 2 orang makan, letak daging rendang 3 ketul… erm, eh… make that 4! And kuah pedas and timun yer! Ikan bilis, tannak! Pastu kan, bungkuskan kite 5 bungkus, menu yang samo also ya Kak Ara!!! Cepat la Kak Ara, bawak nasi tu dulu, air kemudian. Lapar first, then dahaga”…

… And THAT is just only the beginning, like, HELLO!? Ever heard of “THE NIGHT IS STILL YOUNG, BEBEH!” Yeah babeh yeahhh – lets eat!

YEHHH!!! *clap clap hand* And this last countdown ladies and gentlemen, babies and elephants (Ops, sorry, I was referring to myself when I said ‘elephants’ – ops!) the one which we have finished talking about, will mark its end time at erm, hmmm… apparently at… erm, hmmm… let me see, approximately, hmmm… roughly… erm… hurmmmm… haiyoh! Owh for crying out loud I don’t know, give and take, erm, shall we see and say soon?! All I can see now is the beef rendang… hiks!

PS a.k.a Disclaimer: Content of this entry have been tempered by the evil Devil. Bad… bad… tsk tsk tsk. It is the devil that wants all to be deceived and see me as this evil plotter… tsk tsk tsk… I won’t be that selfish (well, I could if I want to but I guess I won’t have to do that… you see, I erm, personally don’t fancy fish, sorry… LOL!) Ok now, NEXT!? Eat somemore? ;)

30 Questions… Answers? Work it out yourself! Goodluck!

    March 19th, 2005

    Dearest all…

Mek dah kembalik!!! Yer, as promised, here are some questions yang selalunye disoal waktu beauty pageants – during the q/a round. Some of the qs ade diambil dari contest2 yang mek dah masuk. Ade some from Miss Universe / Miss World pageants yang mek rekodkan dalam… no, not on videos… dalam kepala otak mek lah! Ehehehe… Well… How I wish I nak jawab semua soalan2 yang akan ku kemukakan. Tapi nanti itiew ade org kata mek overina pulak – so mek soal jer la nah? OK OK – atas permintaan sesetengah pihak, mek akan jawab SOME of the questions my way, but mek buat ala ala short2 answer jer la. Mek bukan US Grad pun nak jawab pepanjang, HEHEHEH!

    1. If you could change one thing that you did here, TONIGHT, what would it be and why?
Earlier on, after getting into this stage, I forgot to say, “THANK YOU GOD”! If I could change anything, tonight, I would turn back the clock and so right after the emcee annouced my name into the top 10, I would say in my heart, and out loud, THANK YOU GOD!”

    2. If you could live your life as someone else, who would you be, and why?

    3. Some say that, it’s a man’s world. What do you think?

    4. Given the chance to choose between smart or beautiful but not both, which one will you
    choose and why?
I would definitely choose to be smart becoz beauty is something that comes from within. And if you’re smart enough to know that you have self confidence in you, by all means you are already beautiful…

    5. What is beauty. Share with us your definition of beauty

Beauty is pain! Why? No one likes you when you’re pretty, everyone wants a piece of you when you’re beautiful, so call it jealous and envy. To me, beauty that comes from within, still, pointless as it can’t be seen by all – only those smart ones will see the true skin-deep-beauty

    6. What is love from your point of view?

    7. Should you win tonight’s pageant, what’s the first thing that you would do?

    Cry?

    8. Between living in a palace of pain and a prison of pleasure, which one would you choose and
    tell us why?

    9. Do you believe in “Happily Ever After”?

    10. 100 years from today, who would historians select as the most influential woman in the 21st century and why?

In my opinion, a 100 years from today, so be it 500 years from today, the most influential woman, that I could think of, is Mother Theresa. She helped everyone, the poor, the sick. She didn’t asked for anything in return. All she wanted was, I quote her saying “I want them *the children* to have food in their mouth, and happiness”.

    11. Should you wake up one day and found out that you have been turned into a MAN, what would be the first thing you do?

    Wank?

    12. Would you rather be Grace Kelly or Audry Hepburn?

    13. What do you think of the colour, RED?

    14. Would you vote for a particular political candidate because of his or her marital infidelity?

    15. Who do you think should make birth control decisions – the government, or individual
    woman herself?

    16. If you could go back in time, and meet one famous person, who would it be, and why?

There are so many famous people that I would like to meet, but one person would probably Lady Godiva. She has proven to world that a woman has the courage, and the ability to stand up for what she believes in and I wanna meet her simple becoz I wanna ask her personally, why did she ride on that horse without any clothes on…

    17. Stranded on an island alone – what are the three things that you want to have with you?

    18. Who would you think, among the top 10 tonight, including you, should win the coveted crown and title tonight?

As much as I wanna say, I should win the title, *make sure u giggle a bit* but I believe, truly, that, EVERYONE has the equal rights and chances to win tonight…

    19. If you have the power to influence people, what would you wanna say to the world and let them believe and follow you?

    20. Is racism, skin colours, an issue for you? Let us know your point of view.

    21. Why should tonights’ crown be yours? Tell us why…

    22. What is your best quality, and your worst quality?

    23. Stranded in a jungle with only one book – which book would you choose?

I would definitely want to have the “MANUAL TO SURVIVE IN A JUNGLE – ALONE”

    24. What’s the greatest challenge by becoming your country’s rep. in tonight’s competition?

    25. What do you think of beauty pageants and people who take part in it?

I think that it is a time where the contestant would be able to measure the degree of their own ugliness *Oh, make sure u wink a lil! Ekeke*

    26. If you knew you could not fail, what would you do?

I would go on and do what I wanna do in life. And knowing that I would not fail, I would do EVERYTHING!

    27. Describe your feelings now, at this point…

    28. Name three criterias that you want your man to have?

    29. What do you think of marriage?

I believe that marriage is a very sacret thing and an everlasting commitment is very important…

    30. Would there be any world peace?

Of course, different people, different lah answernye kan? Tapi the most important tip here, bukan memahami soalan itiew. I mean, memang la kena paham soalan itiew, tapi in beauty contests, there is no right or wrong answer. Judges are there nak tgk how fluent and confident u jawab, biar lah merapu *JGN LA MERAPU OVER DOSE KELUAR TOPIC PULAK!*. And I believe, the way to get into the judges heart, most importantly, THE CROWD’s attention – try to be sweet yet sensitive about the q (a bit serious when it comes to certain time) and most of all, I always believed that by being a bit funny, you could easily get them to laugh a lil and thus get their attention rather than jawab blaaa blaa blaa facts facts facts- orang pun muak…

Ok – time to sleep. Now its, eh!?! Its 12am plus? BARU!? Hmmm – Mek rase mek nak makan lah lagi. Elok utk kesihatan badan dan kecerdasan minda kalau makan tetengah malam pastu tidur! Ehehe. Ok peeps! See ya when I see ya! Bubbye! And GOOD LUCK to those yang nak compete nanti! I hope entry nih sedikit sebanyak dapat membantu u ols semue prepare utk q/a session.. See ya!!!

    Sincere regards, with best wishes,

    Nurlea Laurielle Lai Lee Abdullah
