Hurmmm… Shasha Patel, the stunning Indian (though originally she’s Malay/ Muslim la kan - but she represented India la kan waktu contest itiew…) who clinched the title of Miss Universe Diva 2003/04 (that’s like 5 years back la kan) and with me, honored, satisfied and truly happy to be crowned as her runner-up that night. Haiyoh, tarak ingat ka the story? Bla bla bla… -> nah, link to that entry; nengok kat contest ke-3 yang Akak competed in 2003 tu, ha, that’s the pageant, that’s the one Akak dok babbling about nih! Hiks!

• Thank you for the question (mati la dah feeling2 jawab soalan ratu ratuans! HAHAHAHA!) I would definitely go for money, because as we all know, money makes the world go round and round although it can’t buy happiness - still, it can give you great looks, with one of those multi-million dollar plastic surgeries LOL! Akak hari tu waktu dok kelam kabut bile virus masuk pc jer, asik2 ask csi_X, asik2 kacau dia, asik nak bergantung-harap kat dia. Tapi now, Akak decided to buat sendiri and try sort things out with Google katanya yer… And so hari nih, katanya Akak nak share lah, my version, simple I suppose, cara manual to remove virus yang commonly attacks our PC melalui salah downloads ke (Akak dinch mau tau where you went and download stuffs, or what you downloaded and what not la kan… P&C katanya yer… LOL!), iaitiew ‘Autorun’ virus bodoh tu… ops! And normally bile got the ‘Autorun’ virus, akan ado la nanti ‘Resycled\boot.com’ error msg tu kan? Or ‘Recycled\boot.com is not a valid win32 application’ kan? Sentipnye bertambah with that irritating alert sound bodoh tu kan? Sakit hati mek! OPS!

Normally it will attack by not giving you the access to local disk C and possible local disk D ask well, depending on brapa banyak korang buat partitions kat dalam your notebook/ PC tu la kan and how seriously damaged/ infected your notebook/ PC is. So Akak nye guideline nih adalah cara mudah bagi Akak la and it worked (DISCLAIMER: If this method doesn’t work for you, Akak dinch bertanggungjawab and take no responsibilities yer…). Akak figured out like there are tons of guidelines from the pros out there on the net, true. Tapi bagi orang yang taktahu ape kebende with pcs and stuffs, may tend to find it hard to follow up jadi Akak came out with this simple, easy to understand guideline bagi meke2 yang macam Akak, nak tahu cara mudah dan cepat to destroy these autorun viruses, bukannye nak dgr/ baca kertas keje IT specialists yang tgh buat essay interview utk keje dengan Microsoft ke ape ke kan, dengan bahasa2 IT yang canggih manggih nih… hiks! Owh and erm, these steps/ guidelines are for those yang gunakan Windows XP aje yer…

Firstly, you should do all these steps after a fresh reboot or in safe mode; how to start Windows in safe mode? 2 ways of starting Windows in safe mode, 1st the F8 key method, and 2nd, the System Configuration Tool method. Akak strongly suggest using the F8 key method sebab the second method, well, lets just say, we don’t want to complicate things and make it all go from bad to terrible to worse, kan? Hiks!

To start removing viruses manually in safe mode, using the F8 key method

• Restart your computer

• When the machine first starts again it will generally list some equipment that is installed in your machine, amount of memory, hard drives installed etc. right? At this point you should gently tap the F8 key repeatedly until you are presented with a Windows XP Advanced Options menu

• Select the option for Safe Mode using the arrow keys

• Then press enter on your keyboard to boot into Safe Mode

• Then START > ALL PROGRAMS > ACCESSORIES > SYSTEM TOOLS > DISK CLEANUP > SELECT DRIVE > After scanning finishes, click all and clean. Do the same for the rest of the drives

• Then navigate to the problem drive(s) via the Explore option. Lets say you cannot access your local disk C; you click once on the name local disk C, right click, and select EXPLORE / EXPLORE FROM HERE

• Then, while in the local disk, dekat your FILE, EDIT, VIEW, TOOLS, HELP panel above sekali tu, click on TOOLS > FOLDER OPTIONS. Click the button which says SHOW HIDDEN FILES AND FOLDERS. Uncheck pule the following boxes- HIDE EXTENSIONS FOR KNOWN FILE TYPES and HIDE PROTECTED OPERATING SYSTEM FILES

• Then find and delete the autorun.ini file and the resycled folder on the root directory of all affected drives. Go to START > RUN > Type CMD > Type dir c:\ /a/w . Check for autorun.ini and/or [Resycled]. If present, drive is infected

• Then type attrib -s -h -r c:\autorun.inf and attrib -s -h -r c:\ntdelect.com . Please be careful to type NTDELECT.COM and not NTDETECT.COM - mess up with ntdetect.com, you’re doomed! Ntdetect.com is an important start up system file so you don’t want to mess with that file. Do the same for d drive. Change c:\ tu kepada d:\ sajork.

• Then delete the files and/ or folder if present. Type del c:\autorun.inf or c:\ntdelect.com or c:\[Resycled]. Do the same thing to D drive.

• Aftewards, explore in LOCAL DISK C > WINDOWS > SYSTEM32 > DLLCACHE and find boot.com file and delete it if present

• Then explore in LOCAL DISK C > WINDOWS > PREFETCH for boot.com file and delete if present

• Delete all files from LOCAL DISK C > WINDOWS > TEMP - some files may not delete, that’s ok, they’re in use by the system and not virus files

• Delete all files from LOCAL DISK C > DOCUMENTS AND SETTINGS > [USER PROFILE] > LOCAL SETTINGS > TEMP - again, a couple files cannot be deleted

• Then go to START > RUN > Type  REGEDIT

• Make sure you are at the very first entry of the registry hive (My Computer should be hilighted). Then click EDIT > FIND

• Search for boot.com. By default, the first 3 checkboxes are ticked. Leave it. Last checkbox by default unticked, leave it. Click Find Next. If it finds an entry, delete it. Keep hitting F3 until you’ve deleted all instances of boot.com in the entire registry

• Scroll the left comumn back up to the top and hilight the My Computer again at the top of the registry hive

• Click EDIT > FIND but this time search for resycled and if found, delete and keep pressing F3 to find the next resycled until it clears in entire registry

• Close registry editor and you’re done

• Reboot the computer back into normal mode

• Then try opening the infected drives, they should work now

• If error This file does not have a program associated with it for performing this action. Create an association in the Folder Options Control panel when trying to access the drives, try renaming it then rename back to the original name and try accessing it again. It should work out fine
